1. Celestron NexStar 6SE
Best for planetary imaging · ₹1,30,000
Why it wins here
Planetary imaging works differently from deep-sky: you record a video of thousands of short frames and stack the sharpest few percent, which sidesteps both mount precision and atmospheric turbulence. The 6SE's 1500mm focal length gives a large planetary image scale, and its tracking keeps the planet on the sensor throughout. This is a genuinely capable planetary imaging setup with an inexpensive camera.
Where it falls short
For deep-sky imaging the alt-azimuth fork mount introduces field rotation, which limits usable exposures to seconds. An equatorial wedge is required, and even then this is not a competitive deep-sky imaging platform.
