This policy explains what personal data Nakshatra Scopes collects when you use this site or buy from us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and a password managed by our authentication provider. We never see your password in readable form.
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number and shipping address, together with the items ordered and their prices.
- Payment information: handled entirely by our payment gateway. Card numbers, UPI IDs and bank credentials are never transmitted to or stored on our servers — we receive only a payment reference and a success or failure result.
- Communications: messages you send us over WhatsApp, email or phone, and our replies.
- Usage data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. This is aggregate analytics, not individual tracking.
Why we collect it
- To process and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To provide setup and after-sales support, including the WhatsApp guidance included with every telescope.
- To understand which pages and guides are useful, so we can improve them.
- To meet legal and tax obligations relating to sales in India.
Who we share it with
- Payment gateway (Razorpay): to process your payment. They receive your payment details directly.
- Logistics partners: your name, address and phone number, in order to deliver your order.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: our site is hosted on Vercel and our database is provided by Supabase, both of which process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Analytics providers: Vercel Analytics and, where configured, Google Analytics 4 receive aggregate usage data.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and similar technologies
- We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, to remember the contents of your cart between visits, and to remember your theme preference.
- Analytics providers may set their own cookies to distinguish repeat visits. You can block these in your browser without losing the ability to browse, search or purchase.
How long we keep it
- Order records are retained for as long as required for warranty support and for statutory tax and accounting purposes.
- Account data is retained until you ask us to delete your account.
- Analytics data is retained according to the provider's default retention period.
Your rights
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you for anything other than an active order.
Security
- Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
- Payment credentials never reach our systems — they go directly to the payment gateway.
- Access to order data is restricted to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders.
- No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.
Children
- This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Telescopes bought for children should be purchased through an adult account.
Changes to this policy
- If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will also be communicated directly.
